Lyrics

“I don’t want to… How are ya… I don’t want to… How are ya?

It’s been wearily going… since I left my own home…

Oh boy, what’s next?.... Oh boy, what’s next?

Will this be the story… for the rest of my life?

Because they obeyed me… Their eyes no longer see.”

“Mee Kah-El… Mee kah-El… is that you speaking? Are you awake?

How did we get to this beach? I’m glad you seem within reach…

Was that a poem you were reciting?... Were you creating one?

I’m so glad you’re OK… But, how did we get here?”

Mee Kah-El speaks slowly… amidst moaning crashing waves of sea,

“Welcome to my Divine Soul, dear… Please have no fear…

Don’t be afraid to come near… I’ve been waiting for you to find me.”

She smiles & feels secure… But has no idea where they both are…

In another step she’ll see his face… Why is her heart starting to race?

His skin’s still smooth… so very, very smooth… He’s still the man she loves…

But now his eyes are different… His boyishness has gone away…

His face is calm… it shows no fear… But his eyes seem so… empty.

What has he seen? What has he felt? Will he ever be playful again?

While Mee Kah-El shows calm… Alisha’s heart senses his truth…

Her heart feels pierced with hard cold steel… She feels unbearable pain.

She thinks, “Nobody can survive this pain… and hope to still remain the same.”

She cries, “Bring your heart back to me… Bring it to me now…

Feel whatever pain or fear it takes… for you to return.”

Another layer of lava oozed up to the surface. He shared,

“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry…

I cannot do this… I’m only a boy…

What was I thinking? What was I believing? That I could lead men to war?

I’m a fraud… I know nothing… Men have died at my command…

Now their bodies will be buried in sacred land… Their families will grieve.

They believed in me… Because they obeyed me… Their eyes no longer see.

How can I get out of this? Help me escape. I don’t want to lose any more lives.

I know I bring you shame, not glory… For this I’m so terribly sorry… ”

“Mee Kah-El… my heart breaks you feel all these things…

All know there’s only so much you can do…

You must stay our leader for 2 reasons…

You inspire & communicate super well…

And… God told you to!

But now is for now… and now you must rest…

For that I’m climbing in to be with you…

‘Cause that’s what I do best.”
