Lyrics

The day is still being born… Nature’s sounds have just begun…

Darkness hasn’t quite left… The sun hasn’t yet come.

A Monarch prince lands on… a nearby red peony. His wings are gold & burgundy.

A turquoise princess alights nearby… on a purple spray of a butterfly bush. But…

A hawk sees a sight. A hawk hears a sound. He skips his lunch to examine profound.

Pushing down with power… Yet feather-borne in weightlessness…

It soars. Flapping… flapping… flapping… flapping…

Where’s it going? Where’s it going? Does anybody know… where it’s going?

Of all God’s creatures… Flying at odd angles… Butterflies fly most like angels.

This one’s wings boast royal designs… of aqua-blue-green, gold, purple, & red…

It flutters like a stutter-stepping tango dancer… Making predators dizzy.

Push down… body up… Push down… body up… glide… glide… glide… glide…

She pushes down with both wings & glides… across a fat trout stream…

Pushes down with both wings & glides… to her favorite Garden of Eden.

Breezes sing to… and serenade… this butterfly queen. Oooooohhhh oooooohhhh.

Ooooooweeeeeeoooowwweeeeeeeooooowwweeeeeeeooooowwwwweeeeeeee.

A Monarch prince lands on… a red peony. His wings are gold & burgundy.

She alights nearby on a purple spray… of a towering butterfly bush.

They intensely sense each other…

Antennas moving & vibing… front hands wiping their faces.

They examine each other… Each seeming to focus elsewhere...

Partly they’re enticingly coy… & clever…

Partly they’re recalling… the eternal cocoon womb…

From which they’ve just torn themselves… free.

Their moist wings… dry & harden… under the sun.

The day is still being born… Nature’s sounds have just begun…

Darkness hasn’t quite left… The sun hasn’t yet come.

A Monarch prince lands on… a red peony. His wings are gold & burgundy.

A turquoise princess alights on a purple spray… of a towering butterfly bush.

A hawk sees a sight. A hawk hears a sound. He skips his lunch to examine profound.

On another day a hawk that’s flying… a mile above the ground…

Might’ve just snacked on our butterfly friends… But not today… Not today.

Now his senses focus elsewhere… Several small mountains ahead…

The hawk sees a sight… The hawk hears a sound.

Thump… thump… thump… beedump… beedump… beedump… beedump…

Thump… thump… thump… beedump… beedump… beedump… beedump…

Marching rows… soldiers… horses… rifles… spears… canons… & catapults too.

Drums keep beating. Chanting.. Marching… They groan… as they pull.

There are so many, they cover 2 mountains…. & the valley in between.

Their dust turns day to night.

“Young Mee Kah-El,” Satan said firmly… almost warmly for an angel,

“It’s time to lead your troops. You’ve had 3 weeks to train & be trained with your 260,000 man army under General Ezra. What are your commands?”

Awaiting their leader's orders were: Satan, and Minister Angels Rafael, Michael, & Gabriel, hundreds of Ishan angels, a thousand elite guards & a quarter million soldiers.

Being anointed is a higher authority than any man-made authority.

Rabbi Twersky huddles with his wisemen. Mee Kah-El breathes… then gulps.

The day is still being born… Nature’s sounds have just begun…

Darkness hasn’t quite left… The sun has not yet come.

A Monarch prince lands on… a red peony. His wings are gold & burgundy.

A turquoise princess alights on a purple spray… of a towering butterfly bush.

A hawk sees a sight. A hawk hears a sound. He skips his lunch to examine profound.
