Lyrics

The thunder was rumbling… the ground was shaking…

The splendid blade of grass arched in raptured glowing light…

Its grass family formed… A rich sea of swaying green pasture…

With darting shadows of clouds scurrying across this site…

No grass… feared the rumblings or tremblings of God’s Nature.

The blade of grass was plucked by hand… Timmy placed it in his mouth…

He sat back and chewed it a bit… He took the deepest breaths of his life.

The mist was thick… with patches of fog… The valley below was hard to see.

“Do you think…” he began, “Do you think there will be..

A way we can all feel at peace once again?”

Alicia replied, “Some angels from God & some armies destroyed…

Some quakes and floods… A few Biblical storms… You say you need peace & rest?

You think you need peace and rest?... You really need a Bee button…

Then you can find the peace you seek.”

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

Will you promise?... Will you promise?...

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

No matter what the time.

Timmy asked, “A Bee button? A Bee button?

What the heck’s a Bee button?” She said,

“You see how my top button’s larger & purple…

Unlike the white lower ones?

Come and I’ll show you what a Bee button does.”

They sat against a weeping willow tree…

Facing east, he was at noon--Facing south, she was at 3 PM

He faced the Freedom Tower… She faced the White House.

The sky was glowing… though the sun hadn’t risen…

Nature awaited its imminent day.

A rainbow appeared east… above the New York City skyline…

The origin for many pilgrims asleep here this morning.

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

Will you promise?... Will you promise?...

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

No matter what the time.

Alicia explained, “But… this unique purple button is of Nature…

See what happens when you touch it. See what happens when you touch it.

See what happens when you touch it. Just open up your mind.”

He turned face to face & touched the button… it was fabric not plastic…

Timmy pulled back and then touched it again…

Not processed by his mind… he smelled the scent of her skin…

The last thing he recalls is that button’s softness…

That button’s soft purple velvet surface… It felt just like skin.

And then they were hugging and then they were kissing…

And together they began to increasingly be…

As if they’d found something special… they’d always been missing.

It was his first time… For once he’d no words…

If their love was a pond… He kept jumping back in.

She’d kissed before… More than one time…

But she’d never kissed “her own man.”

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

Will you promise?... Will you promise?...

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

No matter what the time.

“Wait, Alicia… A news report,” Timmy moaned.

“This is KTVNY… By the White House… This is dangerous…

Nobody knows what’s going down today…

That finger’s poised over that ‘ol red button…

So--Now… we’ve all begun to pray!”

Alicia threw his cell to the side… pulled him closer… closed her eyes…

And kissed Tim as she’d never known how to… yet somehow knew how to.

She kissed Tim as she’d never known how to…how did she know to?

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

Will you promise?... Will you promise?...

Promise me you won’t stop hugging me…

No matter what the time.
